// who I am
I am a platform engineer. For about nine years I have worked the layer most people never see: the Linux fleets, the automation, the security boundaries, and lately the guardrails that let AI agents run in production without causing trouble.
The path here was not a straight line. I started in Linux systems administration, spent several years in security going from a SOC seat to zero-trust architecture, then came back around to platform work. Each detour changed how I see the systems I build. Ops taught me what breaks. Security taught me what people quietly assume.
These days the work is platform and AI infrastructure, and the hobby is a sprawl of self-hosted services at home. Most of what I run, including this site, lives on bare metal in Michigan.
